Winners in Film, Television, Live Entertainment, Home Entertainment and Gaming to be Revealed at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on November 21
NEW YORK—(October 23, 2019)— Clio Entertainment, the original and definitive international awards program celebrating creativity in marketing the entertainment business, today announced the entries that have earned a spot on the 2019 Clio Entertainment shortlist. These submissions will serve as the nominees for the Grand, Gold, Silver and Bronze trophy winners that will be revealed during the Clio Entertainment Awards ceremony hosted by comedian Craig Robinson on November 21 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
FX Networks was a top performer in television, with “Legion,” “Pose” and “American Horror Story: Apocalypse” earning high praise from the jury. The year’s most buzzed about shows, like HBO’s “Game of Thrones” and Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” were also well represented on the list.
In film, The Walt Disney Studios had a notable impact, with a wide scope of campaigns for movies like “Aladdin,” “The Lion King” and “Wreck-It Ralph” securing numerous accolades. Box office hits like “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “John Wick - Chapter 3 Parabellum” and “Us” also dominated categories like Audio/Visual Technique, Integrated Campaign, Key Art and Theatrical Trailer.
Microsoft scored a number of shortlist honors in the gaming entry type again this year, with its “Changing the Game” initiative continuing to garner recognition for the brand this awards cycle. Leading game titles include “Borderlands 3” and “Fallout 76,” which drew attention from the jury in a multitude of categories.
Submissions in the new Live Entertainment entry type also earned noteworthy spots on the shortlist, with titles like “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Frozen on Broadway” and “WICKED The Musical” representing Broadway in a big way. The inaugural Live Entertainment jury was also impressed with a number of international submissions, awarding shortlist spots to the Hong Kong Ballet and The Royal Swedish Opera.
