DIANE WARREN TO RECEIVE HONORARY CLIO ENTERTAINMENT AWARD

10-Time Oscar® Nominee to Be Celebrated on Stage at the Dolby Theatre on November 21

NEW YORK—(November 5, 2019)— Clio Entertainment, the original and definitive international awards program celebrating creativity in marketing the entertainment business, today announced that legendary songwriter Diane Warren will receive an Honorary Clio Entertainment Award during the Clio Entertainment Awards ceremony hosted by comedian Craig Robinson on November 21 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Warren is one of the most prolific and successful contemporary songwriters of our time and will be celebrated with the Honorary Clio Entertainment Award for the revolutionary role her music has played in some of the most iconic moments on film. Her songs have been featured in more than 100 motion pictures and earned 10 Academy Award® nominations and five Golden Globe® nominations. From Céline Dion's "Because You Loved Me” to Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," Warren’s ability to elevate storytelling through music and lyrics have had an immeasurable creative impact on the entertainment industry.

In television, Warren received her first Emmy® nomination and win in 2016 for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for “Til It Happens To You” from the CNN documentary “The Hunting Ground.” She wrote the original song “You Will,” which serves as the anthem for Oprah’s OWN network and a theme song for ABC’s “The View,” performed by Mary J. Blige, which premiered in 2016.

Diane is Grammy®-winning artist who owns her own publishing company, Realsongs, the most successful female-owned and operated business in the music industry. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2001. During her impressive career, Warren has written for iconic artists such as Whitney Houston, Cher, Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, and many more. She continues to work with many of today’s most popular acts, including Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Adele, Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, Janelle Monae and Zendaya. Most recently, she wrote the original song “I’m Standing With You” performed by Chrissy Metz for the feature film ”Breakthrough.”

“Diane Warren’s creative impact as a songwriter is unmatched, especially in the way her songs have been used as a medium for making audiences fall in love with film and television,” said Ashley Falls, Director, Clio Entertainment. “Think back to any time a piece of music has really embedded a scene into your brain and chances are Diane Warren was behind the music and lyrics. It’s that otherworldly power to turn spectators into fans that we look for in both our honorees and the creatives that we’ve made it our business to celebrate.”
