CLIO CANNABIS ANNOUNCES 2020 AWARD WINNERS

Snoop Dogg and The Last Prisoner Project to be Honored with Specialty Awards at Virtual Ceremony

Charlotte's Web, Puffco and Kiva Confections Earn Grand Clio Cannabis Statues

NEW YORK—(December 17, 2020)— Clio Cannabis, the awards competition celebrating creators at the forefront of cannabis marketing and communications, today announced the winners of its second annual program. For the first time since the competition was launched, the jury selected three entries to be elevated to Grand Clio Cannabis status, the competition’s highest honor. Charlotte’s Web scored the top prize in Partnerships & Collaborations for its mesmerizing ‘Trust The Earth Farm Art’ installation, a 76-acre rendering of a hand holding a hemp stalk mowed into farmland. Puffco, also a Grand winner, was honored in Product/Service Innovation for ‘The Puffco Peak Pro,’ a portable vaporizer with the largest ceramic chamber in the industry. The final Grand Clio Cannabis award went to Kiva Confections in Public Relations for the ‘It's All Gravy’ campaign for the company’s limited-edition, cannabis-infused Turkey Gravy.

“The cannabis industry has made huge strides in 2020, from being deemed an ‘essential service’ during the pandemic to prevailing in every single marijuana ballot measure of the 2020 election,” said Michael Kauffman, Director, Clio Cannabis. “These battles were won in part because of the creativity, tenacity and tireless work of countless cannabusiness leaders and we’re humbled to be able to honor cannabis creators in this way.”

The winners of the Clio Cannabis awards will be honored today at a virtual ceremony as part of the Emerge Virtual Cannabis Conference; tickets for the event are available now. The  ceremony, hosted by podcasters Weed & Grub, will feature a tribute to 2020 Clio Cannabis Lifetime Achievement Award honoree Snoop Dogg and appearances by Steve DeAngelo, Evelyn LaChapelle and Jim Belushi on behalf of The Last Prisoner Project, this year’s Clio Cannabis Impact Award winner.

“With the Emerge conference, we’re always looking to spotlight the industry’s leading voices, ideas, innovations, companies, and people,” said Charles Warner, Emerge Conference Co-Founder. “By hosting the Clio Cannabis awards at our event, we’re not only able to deliver on that commitment but we’re also able showcase creative work that hopefully inspires the thousands of industry leaders exploring our 3D platform to drive their business forward in groundbreaking new ways.”

Top overall 2020 Clio Cannabis winners include: Kiva Confections with six total awards; Charlotte's Web and Puffco with four trophies; and Arnold, Artisans on Fire and Weedmaps all receiving three statues. To view the full gallery of winning work, visit www.cliocannabisawards.com.
