ADWEEK: Clio Awards Unveils 50/50 Gender-Balanced Jury Lineup for Its 60th Annual Event

The Clio Awards has unveiled its 150-member jury for this year’s 60th annual event, which boasts a 50/50 percent gender-balanced ratio from 28 countries including Germany, China, Mexico, Canada, India, Switzerland and Brazil.
Jury members include Burger King global CMO Fernando Machado, Adweek’s 2018 Grand Brand Genius; VMLY&R global CCO Debbi Vandeven; BBH Worldwide CCO Pelle Sjoenell; Design Army co-founder and CCO Pum Lefebure; McCann Worldgroup global creative chairman Rob Reilly; Grey Group CCO Vicki Maguire; TBWA\Chiat\Day New York CCO Chris Beresford-Hill; DDB CCO Lisa Topol; R/GA executive vice president and U.S. CCO Tiffany Rolfe; Golin CCO Caroline Dettman; Prettybird director and animator Kirsten Lepore; Ola! “We’ve come a long way since Clio started bringing together world industry leaders to celebrate creativity six decades ago,” Clio president Nicole Purcell said in a statement. “We’re so proud to reflect the evolution of our business with this year’s jury, an extraordinary group of representatives from diverse nations, genders, ages and creative fields.”
This is the first year where the Clio Awards will introduce the Film Technique: Copywriting category while also updating its Design and Public Relations mediums “to reflect the evolution of those industries.”
The 2019 jury will meet to deliberate in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and the 60th annual awards show will be held on Sept. 25 at the Manhattan Center in New York.
